The first weekend in Florence,
Castle Grayskull opened its doors as a ristorante (we cook, guests do dishes and our cactus, Giovanni - who came with the apartment, is the greeter). We've hosted two dinner parties (our dining room table has pull-out extensions: WIN) and had friends over to hang out before going out on the town. The menu was pretty basic - pasta,
ragu (meat & tomato sauce - we added spices & red wine), bread
(pane) and
olive oil & fresh fruit - but was a great time to hang out and get to know people.

In addition to the dinner parties, we had friends over
(left - playing Ring of Fire) to play card games, listen to music and socialize before going out in Firenze. One night, we ended up going to
Fish Pub (where a lot of American students were hanging out but just standing around - boring) at the recommendation of a travel promoter on the street. After we left, it was onto
Twice (a fun
disco with no cover disco but 10 Euro drinks). After wandering around a ton (its really easy to get lost in
Florence - the streets aren't set up in a grid), we ended up in Piazza
Santa Croce where we met a crazy guy from Spain trying to convince us that he was a party...
